BactiBlock expanding its antimicrobial protection to more industries

Technically, a toy is a product designed or intended to be used for play by children under the age of 14. This definition is contained in Directive 2009/48/CE of 18 June 2009 on toy safety, which is the most immediate legal environment for such products within the European environment.

Young children exhibit a high susceptibility to several infections caused by bacterial microorganisms like E.Coli, which can be effectively combated with BactiBlock.

Given the vulnerability of children, the audience to which toys are aimed, toys must comply with extremely strict requirements. For this reason, BactiBlock has been submitted to a technical evaluation in third party laboratories, to measure its compatibility in this specific application, achieving the approval for its use in this industry.

By means of this approval, BactiBlock will be incorporated to achieve more durable and  hygienic toys, which at the end, will help us to protect our children.

The antimicrobial activity in plastics will be measured through the standard JIS Z 2801 and ISO 22196. When it comes to Virus, BactiBlock has been also tested against them with satisfactory results through the standard ISO 21702.

If you are interested in further information about how to apply BactiBlock in the production of toys or any kind of plastic articles, do not hesitate to contact our team.
