BactiBlock® treated artificial grass

Artificial grass or turf consists of a surface made from synthetic fibres, which designers engineer to imitate natural grass’s aesthetic qualities and feel. It is much more durable than natural grass and easily maintained without irrigation or trimming. Stadiums and arenas initially utilized these artificial playing surfaces. Nowadays, this option is becoming more and more popular in many other areas.
One of the reasons for this kind of product to gain popularity is the improvement of its technology. Today artificial turf is able to offer extra functionalities such as antimicrobial protection. Artificial grass utilizes a variety of materials, including polyethylene or polypropylene, to achieve durability and natural aesthetics. BactiBlock® is perfectly compatible with these polymers and easy to incorporate during the manufacturing process. At Laboratorios Argenol we produce customized antimicrobial masterbatches for our customers to ensure a perfect adaptation to the standard material.
This makes turf more hygienic than other alternatives, being especially worthy in high-traffic areas exposed to heavy usage. BactiBlock® antimicrobial turf maintains cleanliness and visual appeal over an extended lifetime by inhibiting the spread of pathogens. This specialized turf offers several advantages over standard grass or turf:
- Longer cleanliness: BactiBlock® treatment helps to prevent bad odors, mold growth, stains, and bacterial spread that can occur over time with standard turf.
- Safety for children & pets: Antimicrobial turf avoids germs and bacteria that could otherwise lead to illnesses, especially for kids and pets who spend lots of playtime in contact with grass
- All weather durability: In particular, in wet weather, where microorganism best growth, anti-microbial turf offers a non-negligible extra protection.
- Long-lasting investment: Durability is extended thanks to BactiBlock®.
Antimicrobial artificial turf can be a great solution in various settings today, due to its minimal maintenance requirements and durable year-round green colour. Typical places where BactiBlock® treated antimicrobial grass can be used are: playgrounds, pool surrounds, sports fields & gyms or private & public gardens.
