BactiBlock a long-lasting protection

Worried about the durability of your product’s antimicrobial protection?

Providing a reliable and long-lasting antimicrobial protection could be something challenging to achieve. Specially because not all the antimicrobial additives available on the market provide the same kind of protection. Durability can actually be a determinant factor of difference when making a comparison.

In order to try to shed some light on this, BactiBlock has been subject to various tests which have been carried out in an external experienced technology centre.

For this purpose, PP based samples treated with Bactiblock where subjected to an ageing process according to ISO 4892-3 standard (Aging method A.1). The analysis consisted of the determination of antimicrobial activity at different times according to ISO 22196 (JIS Z 2801):

  • Time 0h
  • Time 3.200h ≡ 4 years of shelf life
  • Time 4.000h ≡ 5 years of shelf life

Results showed a strong and continuous antimicrobial performance ≥ 99,99% in all cases from time zero to the last time checked which was equivalent to a period of shelf life of 5 years.

Therefore, it has been confirmed that BactiBlock can offer a durable solution against the health challenges we face now. Antimicrobial treated products, when used correctly, are able to reduce the transmission of pathogens of any kind via surface contacts.
